Main Tool Bar
First, find and open Nvu. You'll find it in the path: Macintosh HD:Applications:Nvu (which means open the Hard Drive, then the folder "Applications", then double click the Nvu icon). When you start the program, you get a window with a toolbar on top that looks like this:

When you slide the mouse over any button, you will see a brief description of what that button does.
The top line of the toolbar is your basic interface buttons. From here you can create a new document, open a previously saved document, save, publish(you won't need this) among others. Also are your basic HTML tools, create anchor, link, image etc.
The middle line of the toolbar behaves pretty much as it does in Appleworks. You can left-justify, center or right justify text, you can make numbered lists or bulleted lists, increase or decrease font size, etc. The other buttons and drop down menus can be a bit more confusing. This manual will explain the working of some of the buttons and features of Nvu so that you can create your own simple web page.
The bottom line has the far more confusing set of commands. The only tool you will probably need is the second drop down menu. From this menu you can choose to use custom fonts on your web page. Be aware though, that not every computer has the same list of fonts you do! If a person doesn't have the font you specified, the browser will substitute the default. This can cause your page to display incorrectly.
